Wow Marlins 9, Reds 3

July 22nd, 2007 — article by

Marlins take the series 3-1. Marlins bats really got going in the 7th inning to take the big lead again. Hanley partialy dislocates his shoulder in his first at bat and has to leave the game. That brought Amezega to shortstop and Cody to Centerfield. Cody gets on base 4 times today and scores two runs from being hit by a pitch, two walks and a single. I call it the mini cycle of all the ways to get on base. Way to go Marlins, get um Ross tomorrow night in Arizona………

Marlins slam Reds 11-1

July 21st, 2007 — article by

It was a close game until the 7th inning with Kim only giving up 1 run and the Marlins leading 3-1. Bottom of the 7th Jason Wood homers, Matt Traynor homers, Hanley Rameriz Homers in the 8th and the Marlins wind up with 8 runs to tie a Marlins record for runs scored in one inning. Great job by players coming off the bench. Great job by Tankersly shutting down the Reds in the 8th inning.

Cody went 0-4 and got hit by a pitch playing center field. The good news is no strike outs and all hard hit balls to the wrong place. Cody looked confident at the plate and swung the bat well. Only a matter of time before Ross gets back into the groove. Gee he was only out a little over two months.  Marlins lead the Reds 2-1 in the series. Game 4 tomorrow.

Marlins win but Ross family comes first

Congrats to Sara and Joe for having their third child…..A baby boy 8 lbs and 23 oz or something like that. All the Ross family are in Lubbock for the birth. Congrats to the Ross family……. Marlins won tonite with a big bat session. Hanley had three doubles, Uggla hit it out, Cabrerra hit it out, Olivo hit it out and Olsen came off the naughty seat to clinch the game for the Marlins. On to game three with the Marlins tied with the Reds 1-1. We got a left handed pitcher in the next game which we will probably see Cody start. We love baseball……..

Marlins let one slip away

Im not sure how this happened other than blaming it on Benitez in the 8th inning. Marlins had a 5-3 lead over the Reds going into the 8th inning. Freel came up with a 3 run homer to take the lead and win the game. Cody did go in for Hermida in the 7th inning and pulled a walk his first at bat. Patience, gotta love it. Ross struck out in the bottom of the ninth. On to game two with the fish 3-4 on the homestand. Very nice to see Cody back in the game. I just hope Fredi will platoon Cody with ALL the outfielders. Now that he still has that left handed pitching glued to his name…….USE HIM>

Another update

Look for Cody in the dugout for the Reds series. Hopefully we will see him on the field sometime during the series. Go Ross……….
