Marlins split with the Braves.

April 24th, 2008 — article by

Badenhop had a good game if he could have made the first inning go away. Braves scored 5 runs in the first inning and held on to beat the Marlins 6-4. Josh Willingham drove in all the runs for the Marlins  with a single, double  and a 3 run home run. Cody goes 0-3 and gets pulled from the game. We gotta change the Mojo folks. Ross hit the ball hard all three at bats but to the wrong place. This is getting old. How much bad luck can you have? Ross has had more than his share of bad luck. I hate to reach here but thats all I can do. Ross has not struck out in I don’t know when. He is hitting the ball hard again to all the wrong places. $%muther& alll that stuff. Is Ross ever going to get a break?  Wait! I just found the problem. Oh my gosh. Cody I am sorry. I just noticed in my box I never replaced your Reds jersey with the Marlins jersey. Thats it. The mojo will work now. I am really sorry. We have been so busy I never changed the jersey in your box. Damn. ITs up now so you can hit. Looks really good. Thats the go ahead brother.

Andrew Miller gets his first win for the Marlins

April 23rd, 2008 — article by

It was a shaky five innings for Andrew Miller, but he pulls it off with the help of the Marlins strong bullpen for the win over the Braves 7-2.  Hanley and Jacobs go long in the first inning adding two more homeruns for the Marlins who are now in second place behind the Phillies for most home runs. Marlins still lead the NLE by a game and a half over the Mets.

Funny how MLB, FSN and all the other sportscast gurus don’t even recognize the Marlins having such a great start. Last I knew, the Marlins were second in baeball with total homeruns. Second or third with most double plays. Second best era average by the bullpen. I could go on but I forgot the rest. Don’t ya think that would raise an eyebrow or two. Don’t they do that for a living. Stats stats and more stats the Marlins are pouring into the books and nobody seems to notice. Has Loria pissed off that many people or they all that inept?

I am watching the FSN final report as the Marlins game comes on. No mention about the the Marlins other than Hanley hitting a first pitch home run and his 6th of the year. Only snubs on the Braves losing. What a bunch of crock. Get my point.

Anyway after that rant, Marlins might have another pitcher in the rotation. Miller held on for the win, but the Braves left 9 batters on base while he was at the mound. Lucky?  We shall see.

Marlins still lead the NLE

April 22nd, 2008 — article by

Although the Marlins fell to the struggling Pirates tonight 3-2, they still lead the NLE over the Mets by a game and a half. Who would have ever predicted this. Olson and Hendrickson are the only two pitchers doing well for the Marlins. Ricky Nolasco pitched very well for the first 5 innings and then gave up 4 hits and 3 runs in the sixth to lose the game. He had some good stuff and had good control until he lost it in the sixth.
Cody went 0-4 tonight. Ugg. We gotta get this guy hitting. Start kissing your Cody Ross bobble head. Rub some mojo on your baseball or baseball card. Pray to the baseball Gods to let Cody find a hole. Praise Fredi for doing such a great job as manager. Try not to watch the game. Atleast look the other way when Cody is batting. Give the Marlins front office a HO Ho for putting together such a good team. We all know Cody will come around, I just hope he gets the chance to come around.
