RSS and Baseball Links Too

April 4th, 2008 — article by

Hey folks,

Just wanted to pass along the word that the site is now hooked into Feedburner. What is Feedburner? Well, it allows you to get the latest of Dave’s rants via your Email, Yahoo, Google and more. I am a big proponent of Google, so I have my homepage on my browser set to google.com, fully populated with all my favorite RSS feeds. This way I get the latest on my sports news, technology blogs, CNN, etc. Basically, it’s how I stay up to speed with what is going on, and I highly recommend it. So, if you want the latest on Cody, click the little RSS link in the upper right of the site.

You may also notice a new category in the right column called ‘Marlins Links’. Choose these to see what others are blogging about regarding the Marlins.

Peace,

Robin

Bad day for the Marlins, Good day for Ross

April 2nd, 2008 — article by

Marlins got blown out today by the Mets losing 13-0. Perez had a good day on the mound for the mets pitching 6 scoreless innings. Andrew Miller on the other hand gave up 5 runs in 4 1/3 innings. The starting pitching for the Marlins gets worse and worse. Those guys gotta throw strikes. Lets hope that Olsen has his act together when he starts on Friday night against the Pirates.

Cody got his first hit of the season and had a good defensive stand in centerfield. Threw Wright out on a relay with Hanley at the plate and made a diving catch to save some extra bases. Marlins lose the series 2-1. On to the Pirates on Friday night…

WWwwwwwhat a way to beat the Mets

Robert Andino was headed for Alb. until he got a call at 2 am from Mike Hill. You made the team. That day, De Aza got hurt in the bottom of the ninth inning putting him on the DL. That moved Amezega back in center to platoon with Ross. Marlins needed a back up infielder so they called Andino back up. Andino has been in the shadows of Hanley Ramirez as a back up shortstop. He had a good spring training, but could not win the job from Amezega as the backup infielder. Fredi put him at third base in the 10th inning as the game was tied with the Mets 4-4. Bottom of the 10th with 2 outs, he hits one out for the walk off home run. His first in the big leauges. Great story, one that he will never forget. The scrapping Marlins beat the mighty Mets 5-4. The bullpen was outstanding with Vandenhurk only going 3 1/2 innings. This might be the norm for the first part of the season. Marlins again are hurting for starting pitchers. But the bullpen is strong as shown today with Pinto, Owens, Kensing, and Gregg pulling out scoreless innings. Kevin Gregg had a shaky closer going 3-0 counts with three or four batters. His glasses broke and had to pitch with no glasses. Whats that all about? Dude get a spare set!!!!!!! You make enough money now to do that…..So do that…… You could tell he was squinting at the plate. My gosh… Even I have a couple of spare glasses. Cody came in to bat in the 7th inning but hit a fly ball that was caught. He hit again in the 9th but flied out. ITs just a matter of time Cody. Nice catch at the wall to end the inning in the 10th. Strap on your seatbelts folks because this will be an interesting year for the Marlins and Cody Ross. Kenny and Janet are in Miami for the series against the Mets. What a thrill.

On a note about the Codyross board: We will accept all posts as you can see from the posts that were accepted today from Robin. These posts had previously been screened by Robin before they were accepted on the board. This is no longer the case. Feel free to give us your opinion on anything about the Marlins. I am so proud to get a negative response from some idiot from the cubs…….He really showed his stupidity in posting how Ross sucked with a .335 batting average. Learn how to read dude!  LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
