Marlins regain the lead beating the Phillies 7-3

May 31st, 2008 — article by

After getting pounded last night against the hot Phillies and the Marlins losing the last 3 in a row, it was a sweet win tonight. Marlins got home runs from Gonzo, Cantu and…………you guessed it, Cody Ross…….Ross has hit 10 home runs in his last 14 games. That is HUGE. Ricky Nolasco pitched a monster game only giving up 2 runs. Good thing there is alot of left handed pitching  comming up for Ross or he probably would go back to sitting on the bench. Marlins regain the lead in the NLE by a 1/2 game over the Phillies.

Thought I was done uh. Ross walked, stole second base ( 3 for the year), and hit a single up the middle. Where did that come from? I was a smart ass a couple of posts ago when I said Ross would have to come off the bench and hit home runs all the time. And he did…………

Cody Ross’ Strange Stats

May 28th, 2008 — article by

Cody Ross hits 2 home runs.
I’m watching the Marlins-Mets game and Cody has already jacked two homeruns, one a MONSTER shot over the left field fence. You could tell on the replay that he impressed himself with the distance that ball flew, and rightly so. It was smashed!!!

So to get the the story, the announcers calling the game brought up a really interesting stat on Cody for this season. The said he has 19 hits on the season, and 11 of those hits in May. Then the amazing stat. 9 of the last 11 hits have been homeruns. Whoa!!! The announcers said he’s like a Jason Giambi. Ha ha! Way to go Cody!

If I could find a link to work with Microsoft’s stupid Silverlight video player I would send you all a video of this. Dave, we will expect a game recap.
