Marlins take the series against the Mets 2-1

May 27th, 2009 — article by

Great pitching by B-Hop in his first start of the season. He went a strong 5 innings giving up one run. Cody Ross goes 3-4 with 3 runs, 2 rib’s, a single, double and a 2 run homer. That was a mouth full. I hate to say I told you so about the “surge”. Ross’ average up to .263 and hitting the ball very well. Ross was also a speedster on the bases getting to third on a single. Lindstrom gave us all a heart beater loading the basses in the bottom of the ninth. He got out of it and the Marlins win 6-2. On to New York to face the Mets…….Go Marlins!!!

Marlins fall to the Phillies

It was a hard loss for Andrew Miller who gave up one earned run in the first, and two unearned runs. Marlins lose to the Phillies 5-3. Cody Ross goes 3-4 with a double and two singles and a run scored. Go Ross. Fredi could you please put Cody in the 5 spot in the order.  Tomorrow Baden-hop takes the mound with the Phillies and Marlins tied at 1-1 in the series.

Marlins start playing some baseball

After beating the Rays last night in overtime and winning over the Phillies tonight 5-3, the Marlins might be on an upswing that was desperately needed. Keep it up fellas! Chris Volstad goes 6 2/3 innings giving up two home runs to Ryan Howard and that was about it. Wes Helms took the bull tonight going 3-4 with a home run and had 4 RBI’s. Ross has gone 2-8 in the last two games. I feel a surge coming for Cody…….Andrew Miller pitches tomorrow night…….Go fish, our turn to sweep………

Marlins play baseball for 7 innings

It was a good game through seven innings. Then, all heck broke loose and the Marlins went from a 3-3 tie in the 7th to losing 10-3. There were some changes made around the park. First thing I noticed is they have a new organ player. The music was much better but it didn’t help on the field. Unless the old organ player learned some new songs.  Fredi was gone which could have helped the mojo, but that didn’t work either. Sean West pitched well through the first five innings but the bullpen gave up the ghost.  Not sure why they put Lindstrom in to close when the game wasn’t close. He didn’t last long anyway giving up 4 runs and was pulled after only getting one out. Maybe he will get a chance on sunday to close. Josh Johnson pitches for the Marlins to try and stop the bleeding. Marlins are 0-2 against the Rays.

Blackbird crying in the dead of night

I hear the Marlins lost 15-2. I left the game when it was 8-0 in the bottom of the second inning. That’s a first for me. I also heard Nolasco has been sent down to AAA. What is up with Ricky? He’s a better pitcher than that but  has not shown it in his last 2 or 3 starts. Go down brother regroup and come back like you pitched last year. Marlins are just not hitting, pitching, or doing normal things that baseball teams do. Get it together fellas, your better than this……………

Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
