The Rangers bats finally came alive and won the game….Ok enough about the Rangers. Ross broke up the shut out in the 7th inning with his 5th homerun of the playoffs. Cody has hit in the last 10 games with 5 homers and 5 rbi’s. Thats hot. Now batting .317 in the playoffs. Cody also tied a 10 game hitting in the playoffs that goes back to 1921 for the Giants. With Cody’s home run tonight Ross is tied with the whole team at 5 ……Go Babe Ruth Ross………
What a game. I just love all the “experts” and “analysts” that predicted the Rangers to win, and it would be a low scoring game…..NOT. That’s baseball. Freddi Sanchez went 4-5 with three doubles to break a world series record. Cody Ross had an RBI single in the fifth and Juan Uribe knocked a three run homer to score Ross and put a cushion against the Rangers. Oh yea, by the way Giants take the first game of the series 11-7.
Gov. Richardson deemed today Cody Ross day in New Mexico. Wow, he took time out from screwing New Mexicans to deem a day for Cody Ross. I think Ross is the first New Mexican to play in a world series. The local newspaper actually had an article in the paper that featured Cody’s Mom Janet on the front page. Things never cease to amaze me. It was actually written by the local sports writer. The buzz finally hit in Carlsbad today in anticipation of game one of the world series. Mary from Mi Casita restaurant said it best with “Cody Ross put Carlsbad on the map”. She went to school with Janet Ross (Cody’s mom). I never knew that until the conversation came up about the world series. Kenny Ross (Cody’s dad) received more than 300 text messages over the past couple of days. I got a call from a local business man today wanting to put Cody’s picture in an ad that he was running this weekend congratulating Cody’s success in the playoffs. I said “go for it and later got warnings from Cody’s agent not to do that because of Giants copy write laws on publishing a Giants uniform in print. I said “shucks, I do it all the time on the net”. Guess I will get a copy write infringement bill in the mail next week. Funny things happen when your talking about a national league hero with Cody Ross and the Giants. Think I will go pull some pictures off of my old computer that has some killer shots of Cody with the Marlins. I’m sure Loria will be on my butt for that! My take on all of this is this….The world series is for the fans and all is fair in this computer age. You want to congratulate your home town hero? Go for it. Sue me. Ok, I just got on e-bay and dropped my jaw….Ross usually has 50 to 100 items on e-bay. Today it was up to 450. Everything is coming out of the woodwork. I am guilty of buying Ross items on e-bay, and guilty again today. MVP framed picture with mvp stamp and NLCS stamp on Cody hitting one of his 4 homeruns of the series. Oh and a mvp gold coin to go with it. Only 2010 of them made. E-bay has unsigned pictures of the playoffs, signed balls, old bobble heads, baseball cards from his entire career, giants jerseys, marlins jerseys, bats, signed balls and anything that has Cody’s name on it. Just bought a couple of Boss tee’s made by a company in San Francisco. Last night I was at the Giants shop and bought NLCS hats, Giants hat, Giants jersey, NLCS tee’s. I’m gonna go broke before this thing is over. His box is gonna look cool though. I will take pictures ofthe before and after Cody went to the Giants. The box is just not big enough for everything. I think the biggest increase in value on E-bay was his Marlins rookie card going for $89.00. I got lots of those…Hmmmmmmmmmm. No way! You used to get em for a buck!
That smile says it all as the Giants are headed to the world series with thier MVP player of the NLCS. Smiling Cody Ross! I will start this story when after the game, Cody was on stage with the Owner, General manger, Bochy and Cody Ross…..Thats when I knew Cody got the MVP of the NLCP. I started crying like a baby….Holy shit. He did it….Cody Gump…….Blackbird, Smilly, and Boss. Many nicknames have been tagged with Cody but I will stick with the nickname I called him a few years back. Ross Rocks. If not for Ross the Giants would never be going to the World Series. Period. It is still a Forrest Gump story on what Cody has done in his career. Loria…..you messed up. I understand why you put Cody on waivers but you should have got a trade in the deal. Your moves were heartless and financiallymotivated. You saved a million dollars in Cody’s pay but you lost a clutch player in the process. I hope Maybin works out for you and your cheap ass! I literally cheered when Cody got picked up by the Giants. On to a better team with class. Loria watch out, looks like Uggla might be going elsewhere. Get my drift…..

Congrats Cody, you deserve everything you get. Your right….Two weeks ago you would have been lounging in your house in Scottsdale drinkin a beer and talkin about the season. Now your in the thick of it and can make history. Congrats on your MVP. You deserve it and earned it. Go Giants and go Cody Ross! You rock……
