Marlins bloop hits in the third beat the Mets 9-6
Scoring 5 runs in the third inning proved too much for the Mets. Nothing hit strong, barely over the infield started the Marlins off to a good start. Olsen gave up 4 runs, and Messenger shut the Mets down in the 7th, Pinto came in the eigth and Owens closed in the ninth to beat the Mets in thier first opener at Shea stadium.
