Cody signs with the Boston Red Sox

Just off the text machine, Cody got a one year deal worth three million plus incentives. More later
Boston got a deal this year as Ross was seeking a two year 10 mill contract. If Ross has a good year it will be an entirely different story next year. For the first time in Cody’s career he gets to bat in a hitter friendly park. Now I gotta learn a new league. Kick some butt Cody!
He might get the chance to start in centerfield as Carl Crawford will not make opening day while recovering from surgery. Just speculation but something to think about as spring training aproaches…

Cody still unsigned as of 2012

It seemed clear that the Giants were headed in another direction as the season closed in 2011. Ross had an injury to his hamstring and sat out the last couple of weeks of the season. Brandon Belt came on pretty strong toward the end of the year. Carlos was not in the mix to resign. Rowand was at odds with management and is laughing all the way to the bank. Burrell will likely retire. Cody is left in the cold of his first year of free agency. Tagged as a fourth outfielder in the mix seems a bit confusing. So the Giants are left with MelkyCabrera, Justin Christian, Tyler Graham, Roger Kieschnick, Angel Pagan, Fransisco Peguero and Nate Schierholtz. Good luck Giants

Rumors have the Rockies and the Reds, possibly the Braves interested in Ross. Looks like the three year deal that Ross is after will not happen. But rumors are rumors and enough said. I cannot understand why Ross would be considered as a fourth outfielder with his defensive ability at all outfield positions and his ability to hit in clutch situations. I guess stats are stats and end of story. I predict not. Wherever Cody goes it will be a pivital year. Mark my words. This guy has fought for recognition  his whole baseball career and he will get more intense with age. Look for a break out year for Ross for whoever picks him up. Your gonna get a gem!
