Madness
Well I normally wouldn’t post something early in a game as it’s only the 3rd inning against the Giants as I write this, but Cody is smashing up Barry Zito. A base hit and then a 3rd inning 2-run crush that Bonds, who just hit another homer as well (puts him 1 to tie Hank Aaron’s mark) didn’t even bother moving for. He just looked up in disgust and watched it sail way up into the stands behind left field. Schweeet!!
If I remember right, Carlsbad’s Shane Andrews was playing 3rd base in the game that Mark McGwire broke the season homerun record. Cody now has the possibility of witnessing the all-time homerun record being broken. Asterisked as it may be, it’s still history, and it’s pretty special that two of Carlsbad’s own get to play in these games.

:lol:Yea that is pretty special. I wish Fredi hadn’t pulled Cody when the left handed pitcher went away. How is he expected to hit right handers if he never faces em?

Yeah, that’s pure silliness. I noticed the remark Oral Herschiser (however you spell his name) made about Cody, saying something like “this guy only has 4 homeruns and is not a powerhitter”. I don’t think Oral knows that Cody gets sat against righties and was injured some of this season. I’m quite sure Cody’s homer was the longest in that game. Speaking of long homers, Manny Ramirez just jacked a 485 footer.
