Hello folks

OK. Sorry that I have not posted for all of the off season. Alot has happened with the Marlins since the end of last year. If you have not heard, the Marlins traded Cabrerra and Willis for six players. A couple of pitchers, a catcher I think, and the king of the lot was a young centerfielder named Cameron Mabin. He is touted as the next “big thing in the baseball world”. Problem is he is only 20 years old. Alot of speculation has been made as to how ready he is to play in the big leagues. Well spring training is here, so I guess we will see how this trade dishes out for the Marlins. Also this summer the Marlins made a stadium deal with Dade county. Looks like baseball will stay in Miami. To bad Loria wanted to save some money and trade off their best player in Cabrerra. Go figure. All of that said, there is still the fight for a starting centerfielder. Enter CODY ROSS, DE AZA, and MAYBIN. Of course Ross has the most experience and the best numbers going into this contest, but by golly the Marlins are going to make it another fiasco as to who will win the position. I have not seen Maybin play, but the jest of it is he is not ready for the show. De Aza shows potential but cannot seem to hit a breaking ball. Ross seems to have all the goods but not enough speed for the ever searching Marlins. Enter the first game of spring training………..

Ross walks his first at bat and scores. Strikes out his second at bat, and hits a three run homer his third at bat. Damn, pretty good. Well later in the game De Aza hits a grand slam in the ninth inning. The games begin. I will try and keep everyone updated as this heated competition begins. This is what baseball is all about. My hidden feelings are that maybe we have the wrong players at the corners. Just a shot. Forget it. The Marlins win 16-3. Spring training is here and Ross is Healthy. Time will tell! Freddi did tell the announcers that Ross was their centerfielder. I’m not sure if that was to take pressure off of Maybin or he really meant it.
