Lets move that streak up a bit: 17 game hitting streak

July 13th, 2008 — article by

After the Marlins got pounded today by the Dodgers or should I say Andrew Miller got pounded today losing 9-1 there was a positive note. Cody extends his hitting streak to 17 games. This ties the Marlins record. What this really means is Cody has had a chance to play in 17 + games to get there. Enough said.

Yep, you can read more here too >>

“Among the few highlights at the plate, Cody Ross extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a seventh-inning single. The career-high run, during which Ross is batting .420 (29 for 69), is the longest by a Marlin since Alex Gonzalez hit in 17 straight in 2005. Dating back to June 20 at Oakland, Ross has hit safely in 22 of 23 at a .363 clip.”
