Marlins drop two in a row to the Diamondbacks

July 24th, 2007 — article by
Mitre showed his first fault of the year giving up  6 runs with 7 hits to the Diamondbacks. It was a bad game to watch as Arizona kept scoring with the short ball. Arizona wins 9-3. With Hanley still out with a slight dislocated shoulder Amezega played short and Cody started in centerfield. Uggla had two home runs late in the game to score all the runs. The other good news is Ross goes 2-4 with a single and a double. Cody is looking strong at the plate without a strike out since his comeback after a hamstring injury in may. On to tomaroo night with Olson on the mound. Should be interesting to see how the bad boy handles his game. I predict he will scorch the Diamondbacks. He has the attitude to do it and has alot to proove with his antics off the field as of late. With that being said, I hope I didn’t jinx Olson……….And the Marlins…. We need some wins fellas…..

I heard that a fan robbed Cody of a homerun stealing catch tonight (last game of series). Don’t really know the whole story though

    Here’s the recap on that:

“With one out in the fourth, Hudson hit an opposite-field fly ball deep to left-center field. At the wall, center fielder Cody Ross jumped for the ball, but a fan put his glove out and caught it on top of the yellow home run line. The Marlins argued for fan interference, but second base umpire Chris Guccione ruled it a homer, and the other umpires concurred.”

I can hear it now…..they’ll be bitching that it’s Cody’s fault. If he was taller, he could of caught the ball.
