Marlins take the series against the Padres
Andrew Miller had his best outing of the year going six innings giving up 4 hits and two runs to get the win over Gregg Maddux leaving the game in the fifth after Cody Ross hits an RBI single to take the lead over the Padres 4-2. Marlins went on to win it 10-3.
Cody started the game batting first. Yea thats right batting first and against a right hander. Not just any right hander it was Gregg Maddux. First at bat saw Cody with a line shot over the fence a foot foul. Darn. Same thing in the third, over the fence foul ball. Looks like Ross is getting his swing back. He had his hit to the opposite field over the first basemans head. Clean shot that exited Maddox from the game. So Ross goes 1-4 for the day. I guess I shouldn’t say Cody got his swing back because it never went anywhere. Cody has not struck out much this year, it just seems the ball goes to the wrong place. I swear this kid could not buy a hit for while. Now that he is hitting Fredi, manager of managers, King Fish, Skipper, Big Dog, The King, General, Leader of the Pack, Boss Man, ok ok enough. Maybe you should think about playing him more. Marlins are a half game out behind the Phillies and a couple of points behind the Mets.

Well his hit was enough to end Maddux. Pretty damn good. Glad to hear he’s finding his stroke. I hope that the manager realizes that many players can get off to cold starts. A good example would be Miguel Cabrerra. He’s heated up some now but he had a cold start. The same with Big Pappi.
