Ross Homers and spoils Brandon Webb’s 10 victory bid
Cody hits another home run tonight against Brandon Webb, one of the best pitchers in the game, and a right hander. Amezega started at shortstop for the struggling Hanley, so Ross got the start in centerfield. The Marlins went on to win the game against the Diamondbacks 3-1. Cody hit the go ahead homer in the 5th inning spoiling Webb for his 10 in a row win trying to break a record that was set in 1919. Ross also hit the first homerun that Webb has given up this year. Marlins still in first place a game and a half over the Phillies and the Braves. Ross continues to hit but still sits the bench. He has 5 homers for the year with 76 at bats. I don’t know what else to say. Fredi ole buddy you know the drill….Cudos for Nolasco who pitched a great game. He went 7 innings and gave up 1 run. The Marlins have already won the series against the best team in th NL. I hate to mention a sweep.

I saw the homer on MLB.com. He jacked the crap out of that sinker. His swing there reminded me of a mix of J.D. Drew’s smoothness and Griffey J.R’s lower body torque. Anyway, it was hammered. I’ll see if that got put on youtube.

Marlins are making moves. The signing of Jacque Jones for minimum wage is huge. Tigers eat a 5 million dollar contract when they put Jones on Waivers after he hits .189. Marlins are making a run for it with no payroll still. Look out RedSox our pitching is lethal and we are building a bench that will kick ass. I know the season is still young but I am warning you now, the Marlins are in for the long haul with a 22 mil payroll. Gotta love it.
