Ross leads the team with a .338 average
Cody goes two for three tonite with two doubles, an RBI, a walk, and a run to help the Marlins beat the Phillies 6-3. Wow…….Ross is in a 9 game hitting streak and batting .500 in the last 9 games. Now those are numbers. I hope the Marlins have found their center fielder. I think he has earned his spot. All of this has been off right handed pitchers. So much for labeling. So much for being a streaky hitter. Fredi even admitted that Ross was one of the Marlins best defensive players. And just think, it all started with Willingham getting hurt and Cody getting a chance to play. Way to go Cody……………………………..
Way to go uh Fredi. The season might be over for any playoff hopes for the Marlins but it should be said that they might have found their centerfielder. The numbers are stacking up for Ross. Too bad he didn’t get 400 at bats this year, if you strapulate his homeruns per at bats he would be hitting a conservative 35 home runs. RBI’s over 100. Those are some strong numbers. I realize that it is hard to strap that with only 130 at bats, but folks those are strong numbers. Let the kid play ball. That is all I have always said.

Hell yes!!! Cody is kicking ass!! If he keeps this up he will have the centerfield position in no time!!!!! Can’t wait to see the Marlins in Denver next week. I will be taking pictures and hopefully partying with the team!!! I will give pics to Dave to post on this site! Stay tuned………. McKenzie

CENTER STAGE
Cody Ross made his fourth consecutive start (third in center) Wednesday. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Ross has earned the playing time. He is 7 for his past 16 (.437) with three doubles and three homers, raising his on-base plus slugging percentage to 1.076 in 127 at-bats.
Conversely, rookie Alejandro De Aza is hitless in his past 22 at-bats and 2 for his past 32 (.063). Ross and De Aza will get most of the starts in center through season\’s end with Reggie Abercrombie getting some time there, Gonzalez said.
Asked if he anticipated another center field battle next spring, Gonzalez joked: \”A lot of things can happen… [free agents] Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones.\”
Can I pimp slap this manager?
